Hello! My name is Wendy, and I’m graduating this May with a degree in Health Services Management from Indiana University Indianapolis. I’m passionate about making healthcare more accessible, especially for underserved communities. Through my leadership, internships, and peer advising experiences, I’ve grown into a strong communicator, collaborator, and advocate for equitable care. Why Health Services Management?
I originally started as a dental hygiene student. While taking Healthcare Delivery in the US, I learned about the Health Services Management major. I spoke to my instructor, who recommended the major to me and encouraged me to speak to an advisor about making the switch. I am so glad I did!

This major opened my eyes to the administrative side of healthcare and how much impact happens behind the scenes. I’ve always wanted to help people, and through Health Services Management, I realized I could support patients not just through direct care, but by improving systems, increasing access, and making healthcare more equitable—especially for underserved communities. The mix of leadership, public health, and business has been a perfect fit for my skills and passion.
