After graduation...

LONG TERM GOALS
After completing my BSHSM, I’m excited to continue working at Hoosier Village as a Receptionist. This role will allow me to stay connected to the senior living field while continuing to build my administrative and communication skills in a professional healthcare setting. Looking ahead, I hope to grow into a management or coordinator position—ideally in a nonprofit or community-based healthcare organization, where I can help improve access to care for underserved populations.
I also plan to pursue a Master’s in Health Administration in the future to further strengthen my leadership abilities and expand my impact in the field. I have loved my undergraduate experience, but I am so ready and excited to see what the future holds.

SHORT TERM GOALS
In the short term, I want to continue growing in my new role as a Receptionist at Hoosier Village. I hope to learn more about the day-to-day operations of a senior living facility, strengthen my communication and customer service skills, and gain a deeper understanding of how different departments work together. I also plan to explore other areas of healthcare administration to help me figure out which path I want to pursue long-term.

Future Learning
As I continue my journey in healthcare, I know that my learning doesn’t stop at graduation. One of my main goals is to pursue a Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) to deepen my leadership and policy knowledge. I’m also interested in earning certifications for dementia and long term care or getting my Health Facility Administrators license, depending on where my career takes me.

To stay connected and continue learning from others in the field, I plan to join professional organizations like the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). I also want to attend networking events and conferences to build relationships and stay current on trends in healthcare management. Reading books on leadership, equity in healthcare, and organizational change is another way I hope to grow professionally and personally.
Most importantly, I want to stay open to feedback and keep learning from those around me, whether that’s in the workplace, grad school, or my community.
